AHHHHHH!!

FIRST:

We lived in a cute little 4-plex where our landlords lived in the upper-left, their son in the bottom-left and a set of brothers above us. So we move in and within a couple of days we start smelling marijuana. At first we think nothing of it. Then we start smelling it more often and we figured out that it was coming from the apartment above us (the brothers). So Matt & I decide that we are going to call the non-emergency number the next time we smell it. Matt happened to be home one Friday and the smell came on strong as always and he chose to call. I came home from work early because we had an appointment to show the Bronco to sell and there were 2 police cars in the driveway, one un-marked. I guess they figured out that he was growing the plants, smoking it, and possibly even dealing, they even found stuff for other drugs. Later that day we went to the Landlords just to see what they knew and disaster strikes!! The brothers happen to be their sons as well!!!! Let me tell ya what, they were NOT happy with us! That following weekend we didn't feel very welcome and a little scared to go home. So we got a storage unit, had my brothers come over, and now we are living in my parents basement. Matt just informed me that the one brother that was arrested gave enough information for the police to go back a second time and raid the entire building. CRAZY STUFF!!

THEN:

So, that fun little car we bought has now been in the shop for near 3 weeks. The transmission is shot, the place we took it to called it scrap metal. We did get a small warranty that will cover part of the cost, only $1000 when it will cost $2400 minimum. So the new transmission was supposed to get there last Wednesday and surprise it didn't make it. We have been calling everywhere to see where it is and when it will arrive and they said today (Monday)!! Hopefully it will be delivered and we will get our car back sometime this week. Bummin' a ride from the parentals is not so fun.

NOW:

We are doing okay in the parentals home. We, and they, are ready to move on. But we are making the best of it and trying to keep ourselves welcome and not a nuisance. Patches is now 3.2 Lbs and a crazy kitty as usual. She is pent-up in a room all day and we try to keep her out all evening/night as much as we can so she doesn't go nuts in there. Our bedroom at the moment is my parents basement family room. Our mattress and box springs don't fit in any of the rooms LOL!! It's hard, but we're doing it! Plus we sold the Bronco!! YEAY! (except for the fact that we are down to one car for a bit)

Hope you all are just grand!!

NEW CAR AND NEW WORK SHIFT

A lot has happened. On Friday we bought a new car for Matt, his Bronco was costing us $70 + dollars a week for gas. We are selling the Bronco, so if you know someone who is looking let us know. It is a 2001 Hyundai Accent and when we filled it up with gas yesterday it was a grand told of $25 dollars. We are both happy it is going to save us $50 + dollars a week.

Matt started his new shift two weeks ago and is loving it. He has found out that he has to fight more which he does not mind. He loves most of the people he works with, and working for the U. He also got promoted to FTO and has to train all the new people who come on in his department.
Patches is doing great she is a little terror and loves to attack us all the the time. She had a check up with the vet and now weighs 2 pounds not the .4 lb when we got her. Her new toy is the bath tube she loves to jump in the tube right when you get done and then leave little wet foot prints all over the couch. I think the pic above makes her look a bit buggy, she has large eyes but sheesh! LOL, gotta love her.
We also had to speak in our new ward today and it went somewhat OK. According to the Mama (a little biased) we did an excellent job. The Bishop had a statement of wishful thinking saying that he will have us speak again in 2 weeks...yeah right!!

Update....

Moving day. The end of April we moved. It had snowed almost 3 inches and I have to say I was VERY surprised! Our helpers had to bail on us so it was just Matt and I that moved us. It took us 2 days. Thanks to my pop we had a large truck the first day and a medium truck the second day. We have decided that next time we move we are hiring it done! It wasn't too bad, but still a nightmare!

(A month later) This is our new place. It is a 4-plex and we are the bottom right apartment. Gotta love basements! Our landlord lives in the left 2, upstairs and down. He put in stairs and created his home with his wife and son (the son basically lives in the basement next to us). Above us is a set of brothers. They are quite nice. Sometimes when I happen to be up a little later than normal I hear one of them singing opera badly. It makes me laugh every time! We also have a giant storage space under the stairs inside by our kitchen that has been a blessing! We sort of collect things and need space and this nook is perfect!

This is kind of behind the building. Our landlord doesn't use this spot so Matt and I are going to plant a garden hopefully next weekend. Our landlord is awesome, he has a tiller and has tilled it once and said he would do it a second time for us to be able to plant more easily. He also has 2 giant dogs that are loud when we aproach, but are just so sweet and loveable! A German Shepard and an Australian Shepard. They have funky names and I can never remember them.

This is the newest addition to our household. Her name is Patches. We got her a week ago from the Humane Society at 2 - 3 months old. I have to say that in just a week she has grown a TON! When we took her to the Vet just after we got her she only weighed .4 lbs. Tiny! You can't see her back but she has patches of grey, brown, and white. She loves to attack things and chew on our fingers. She has a quirky personality, running into things, pouncing on everything that moves, and curling up on our shoulders to sleep. She is starting to get too big for the shoulder sleeping though.

Other than that Matt & I are doing well. Matt starts a new shift this week and for the first time in a long time was able to go to church with me today! I am not going to love not seeing him most of the week but having him the whole weekend will make up for it I think. He will also start classes again quite soon. Same old stuff for me though, work. I am hoping to go back to school this fall and I am very much looking forward to it!

I hope all is well with everyone! Much Love.

Been A While

Okay...It has definitely been a while since we last posted. We have: Moved, Aced Math, Moved, Unpacked thousands of boxes, Moved, and Moved some more. Matt is doing amazing in his math class and I am a little shocked as he hates math. It has officially been 2 weeks since we moved to our new place in Bountiful. Those of you who know where the North Salt Lake Post Office is, it is not far away from that. We still have some boxes that need to be emptied and it is hard to find the time now that I am full swing in tax season and Matt is taking over-time shifts at a mad rate. This place is quite a bit smaller than our old one, but it's set-up is by far a lot better.

Once we have things a bit more in place I will take pictures and post them. We also don't have the internet at our place so it has become a little harder to get pics from my lap-top to the blog.

News of the week: with our tax return we bought Matt's firearm, and (drum roll please) SCUBA gear for me!! I have to say that I never thought I would own a BC and Reg set for quite a while. But, along came my spendy hubby and kazzaam I've got it! The only things left for me to get SCUBA wise is weights and a wet-suit :) I hope to be able to use it before going to Catalina!

I hope you are all having an amazing week! Talk to you soon!

THE NEW ADDITION!!

This week is going to go by so quickly! We are moving this weekend to Bountiful and have already started packing wich is a little sad and exciting all at the same time. We also sold our rock hard futon this past weekend so our newly purchased sofa will fit! We are so excited about this as we haven't really wanted to sit on the couch and chat because it made our bums fall asleep, that all changes shortly!

Today is Easter...Matt is working a double shift, and I am here...packing. He is so sweet! Yesterday we went to a mall and unknown to me he purchased a pair of earings while I was trying on a shirt. They are beautiful and I was in shock as we spent the whole day together! That boy never ceases to amaze me! My gift to him...not as note worthy.

The new addition is Matt's new found favorite thing we own. Monetary cost: enough, The agrivation and confusion as to why he needed such a terrifying thing: horrid, The boyish gleefulness with his new toy: Priceless! The AR-15 is now his!

Lots Comming Up!

Previously posted was the fact that we found a place up in the Millcreek area, well that fell through as they didn't contact us again...BUT...we found another place in Bountiful (really it is North Salt Lake as the road starts in NSL then changes just before our place to Btfl.) It is small 1 bedroom, the kitchen is quite big and will have more than enough room. IT HAS A BATHTUB!!! I love tubs and man-o-man am I excited! There will not be room for our TV in our room that Matt is a little sad about, but I'm NOT! I like that we have to keep the TV out! I am not looking forward to boxing stuff up and moving though. We are moving in the beginning of April.

Yesterday we went to IKEA and found a few things that we love!! And would be so nice to help create a home for us.

We are both looking forward to new experiences and learning and creating a life for the two of us. It really will be great!
