Sorry, no pictures yet. But, I have a great story for you.
Sunday we were sitting to dinner at my parents house with my brother Wayne, his wife Becca and their two girls Morgan and Hailey. Wayne was watching Morgan eat her mashed potatoes with her fingers and said "use your fork Morgie." Her reply was that she didn't have one. Wayne then points our her fork near the top of her plate and asked, "what's that then?" With a very straight and serious face she said, "A dinglehopper".
I haven't stopped smiling about that for about 2 days now.

Officially
We are officially in our new place and will be there for the next year!! HOORAY!!!! I am so sick of moving. It's a great place and we both really like our ward. Our building is a 12-plex and there are 8 of those within a block. The 8 are split in 2 different wards though. I will post pictures later but we have 2 bedrooms, a great living area, and a patio!! My aunt that got married had an extra grill and they gave it to us!! Matt and I love to BBQ and it is fantastic that we have one now. Thanks Auntie-D & Brian!! We still have boxes to put away, but far less now than when we moved in last weekend. We even have a washer & dryer!! We bought those second-hand and they work and will last (except for the fact that Matt dropped it on his foot while being dumb and un-loading it from the truck by himself! Yep, the one he just had surgery on!)
Matt hates math, surprise surprise. He is a trooper though and does his best to not only understand the stuff but to get all the work done timely. He does love his history class which is a subject that he has enjoyed for as long as I've known him. His teacher likes to talk about wars and that is his favorite topic.
Me...nothing new. Just working and putting things away. I have to say that it is amazing to be out of my parents house!! I totally appreciate the fact that they were so willing to let us stay there and that it wasn't even a question. But it is great for them and us to have our own place. My mom now has her basement back. The downside: Patches. She loves my dad and has gone into a bit of a withdrawal when we moved, I believe the feeling was mutual. I suppose she will be making the long 5 minute trek in her box to see him.
Oh, PS- Patches has figured out how to open the bottom cupboard in our kitchen, and is a thief of my hair things in the bathroom!! I know she is hording them under our bed where she likes to sleep!! Funny kitty.

Doreen's Wedding
On August 11, 2008 the newest member of the Ostler/Visher clan was blessed in Las Vegas Nevada. Here name is Aloria. She is such a cute little girl! Not too surprisingly she and her brother look nothing alike and both kids are adorable. Go to Annie & Josh's blog to see more!
Doreen got married to Brian on the 12th of August 2008 at Rockport. They rented a couple of yurts for camping in 2 nights in a row and had their boat up there for all to enjoy. .
Brian loves to BBQ and did an amazing chicken that Matt was overjoyed to help cook! They hired a band to play during dinner and after and they were just fun. Our family is quite talented in music and took over while they had something to eat and were just so fun. A cousin, Tawni, sang a couple of songs from my Grandma's funeral and my mom and I are boobs and cried. It was amazing.
My contribution to the wedding was the flowers. Doreen loves bright fun colors and I volunteered to put them all together. It didn't take long and I really enjoy doing this stuff.
Here is my cute niece Morgan holding Doreen's bouquet. (apparently she is the next to get married :)
The official ring exchange. Doreen looked absolutely beautiful and Brian has nerves of steel. Both Matt and I were totally shaking when we said I do!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

CATALINA

In July I went on a SCUBA dive trip to Catalina with a bunch of my extended family. It was a live-aboard boat called 'The Sand Dollar'. It was SO much fun. We would dive then the staff would fill our tanks up and we would go again! We saw Sea Lions, Kelp, Sand Sharks, Rays, a Seal, and tons of other amazing things that most people only see on the Discovery channel.
This is a bunch of people headed to a cave dive one morning. The Captain went with them and said that it was an advanced dive so I chose not to go.
This is a very small island that I think they called 'Bird Island'. The white stuff is not sand, it is bird poop. There are tons of rocks and other smaller island that are exactly the same. They jut out of the water and are pure white. The Cap. made a comment that it was 2 feet deep, yuck!
This is inside the galley. There are 3 tables and the cooking area. The food was amazing! The cook would have something ready for us every time we would surface from a dive. The staff consisted of two deck hands, a cook, captain, and co-captain. We got to know one of the guys and he is on his off-season with his Caribbean job due to tropical storms. He was from Louisiana. The rest of them were from CA. They were so fun and willing to just chat and give us all the info we wanted. I would recommend this trip to anyone!

Matt's Surgery & Skydiving
Matt went in for his surgery on June 27th. We got to the hospital around 6:30 AM and chatted with the doctor, then Matt wrote 'YES' on the foot that was to be cut and broken. It was supposed to be just an hour surgery and I'm in the waiting room wondering what's going on as 1.5 hours go by. Come to find out the anesthesia wore off and they were a bit frantic to put him out again. We were home by around noon. It was so tough though, having to make sure he took his pain pills on time and that he was eating...I've never had to do that before and it was hard to cater. He is all better now and just got off light duty at work. He is quite happy that he does not have to sit in dispatch for 10 hours a day any more!
This is what his foot looked like 2 weeks after surgery. Grody!! The 'YES' is still visible HAHA. I must say that the fact that he could not wash his foot for about that long was STINKY!!
Here is the Skydiver!! We happen to be heading through SLC off of 3300 South and noticed a helicopter WAY too close to the buildings. We decided to follow it to a very small field that was blocked off by officers and the works.
This little helicopter would circle it's way up in the sky to just a speck, we then would see this other tiny speck falling from it. It was so neat to see this person circle around the city and land so perfectly in the field. When he landed there were cheers and it was very cool!
Here is our little kitty. We think she is teething because she has become a biter! We occasionally leave her out at night and I will hang my feet off the bed. Well I get rudely woken up by little sharp teeth wrapped around one of my toes! YEEOUCH!! Then she will do it again like it's a fun game.

AHHHHHH!!
FIRST:
We lived in a cute little 4-plex where our landlords lived in the upper-left, their son in the bottom-left and a set of brothers above us. So we move in and within a couple of days we start smelling marijuana. At first we think nothing of it. Then we start smelling it more often and we figured out that it was coming from the apartment above us (the brothers). So Matt & I decide that we are going to call the non-emergency number the next time we smell it. Matt happened to be home one Friday and the smell came on strong as always and he chose to call. I came home from work early because we had an appointment to show the Bronco to sell and there were 2 police cars in the driveway, one un-marked. I guess they figured out that he was growing the plants, smoking it, and possibly even dealing, they even found stuff for other drugs. Later that day we went to the Landlords just to see what they knew and disaster strikes!! The brothers happen to be their sons as well!!!! Let me tell ya what, they were NOT happy with us! That following weekend we didn't feel very welcome and a little scared to go home. So we got a storage unit, had my brothers come over, and now we are living in my parents basement. Matt just informed me that the one brother that was arrested gave enough information for the police to go back a second time and raid the entire building. CRAZY STUFF!!
THEN:
So, that fun little car we bought has now been in the shop for near 3 weeks. The transmission is shot, the place we took it to called it scrap metal. We did get a small warranty that will cover part of the cost, only $1000 when it will cost $2400 minimum. So the new transmission was supposed to get there last Wednesday and surprise it didn't make it. We have been calling everywhere to see where it is and when it will arrive and they said today (Monday)!! Hopefully it will be delivered and we will get our car back sometime this week. Bummin' a ride from the parentals is not so fun.
NOW:
We are doing okay in the parentals home. We, and they, are ready to move on. But we are making the best of it and trying to keep ourselves welcome and not a nuisance. Patches is now 3.2 Lbs and a crazy kitty as usual. She is pent-up in a room all day and we try to keep her out all evening/night as much as we can so she doesn't go nuts in there. Our bedroom at the moment is my parents basement family room. Our mattress and box springs don't fit in any of the rooms LOL!! It's hard, but we're doing it! Plus we sold the Bronco!! YEAY! (except for the fact that we are down to one car for a bit)
Hope you all are just grand!!

NEW CAR AND NEW WORK SHIFT

Matt started his new shift two weeks ago and is loving it. He has found out that he has to fight more which he does not mind. He loves most of the people he works with, and working for the U. He also got promoted to FTO and has to train all the new people who come on in his department.
Patches is doing great she is a little terror and loves to attack us all the the time. She had a check up with the vet and now weighs 2 pounds not the .4 lb when we got her. Her new toy is the bath tube she loves to jump in the tube right when you get done and then leave little wet foot prints all over the couch. I think the pic above makes her look a bit buggy, she has large eyes but sheesh! LOL, gotta love her.
