New Job and Lots of FUN

Well a few weeks have past now and so it is time for another update.

Matt started his new job down in Grand County, Utah but he is stationed in Moab. He worked a little more then 30 hours and only had 2 calls. The frist was a lady who went hiking and did not take any water or food with her and passed out a few times and then called 911. So Matt got to drive Code 3 which is lights and sirens for 45 miles out to the call and loved every minute of it!

I, on the other hand, played!! I took a 'tour' from one of the ATV places down there (there are quite a few!) and loved seeing all the sights and
things driving around. Upon return I find I have permanent sleves! Now they are tan, but they were tomato red at that point!
Next time I just might go river rafting!

Matt will be DONE with his EMT-Intermediate class in a couple of weeks and then starts college for Criminal Justice on Sept 24th and hopes to graduate that in Dec 2010!

That is about all the new stuff...livin' life and doing our best.
As always, the furball!

GOOD NEWS!!

So, Matt went to Moab on Friday for an interview with their emergency staff. During that interview they got a call (toned out) to a car crash. They snatched an extra EMS shirt, threw it to Matt and had him come along. They then allowed him to do everything while they watched and upon return to the station offered him the job!!! He has been so proud of that shirt! It has hung in the kitchen since he got home. I guess their ambulances are 4-wheel drive and have 5-9 inch lifts on them to get to the remote places people get hurt. He is stoked! He is also taking an Intermediate EMT course and though it is a ton more work than the beginning class, he is enjoying himself. (Matt will inform me that this particular ambulance is NOT one that he will be driving, that it is in fact a part of the Davis County fleet.)

I also have a new job. I work for the University of Utah in Pediatric Coding. I have been there about a month and have loved it. I also got my hair chopped! I love that it takes so much LESS time to dry and style in the morning. I also have naturally wavy/curly hair so I can wear it straight or it takes no time to dry it curly.

We also had a sort of family reunion. I actually met cousins that I only knew by name and who they belonged to! I honestly cannot believe that many people came! This pic is of my dad (on the left standing) and his siblings. Kind of hard to imagine all those cousins coming from 5 siblings! This really was a once in a lifetime experience as this side of the family doesn't do this type of thing.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Weirdo!

Wow

So most of you know that Matt was laid off the end of January and has been searching like a mad man for new employment. Well, about a month ago he was offered a job and he said 'YES' (of course) and we both were very excited about the new prospect of a second income again. So we had to wait for the guys superiors to approve the hire. We waited a week, Matt called, we waited another week, Matt called. This whole time the guy said he was just waiting on a response. So the next week Matt calls and finds out that the guy that hired him was fired as well as half the staff and a few in management! LOL, Matt was laid off before he even worked an hour! He was on their payroll and everything! HAHAHAHAHAHA! We both think this is hilarious!!!!

I'm telling you, we have had so many things thrown in our path that would make anyone disregard their faith in just about anything. We have felt so blessed as siblings, uncles, aunts, parents, neighbors, our ward (who by the way is amazing!), and just about anyone we talk to have helped us in ways that they will not know. THANKS TO ALL!!!

As a side note, we are doing just grandly. Matt is taking an EMT course and will be done the end of June and I am still working for the amazing CPA and going to school in the evening. I am just so stinkin' excited to have the next couple of weeks off of school between semesters!!

So Close!!

This is taken through my parents living room window! You can see the 2 deer easily, but there is a 3rd to the left. My parentals put a small deer feeder where that first deer is and the second is where they left an old pumpkin. The trio hung around for hours!

Here I am standing on the porch and all they are doing is looking at me. I then get very brave.

This one is near the corner of the house when I got brave and crept my way closer to them.

A Full Year!!

Well, it will have been a full year of marriage when this up-coming Saturday rolls around. It has been a bumpy ride full of craziness. They say money is couple's hardest thing to overcome...I have to agree. You go from being single and being able to spend on whatever you want with no real responsibilities, to asking your spouse if it's okay. I've had several friends say that very same thing and it's true. We have moved 4 times, only once was truly by choice. We have spent many weekends in Mt. Pleasant where my parents are building their dream home (it's amazing!). We have gained 2 nephews and 1 niece, adding our total to 14 nephews and nieces! We love them all! The oldest just turned 10 (Brenden) and it's just amazing.

For an early Christmas present Matt had a bound book made of our wedding pictures. It is absolutely beautiful and I love it!

I have decided that I am married to the most wonderful man that is perfect for me. We, as every one does, have our moments, but love prevails and we end up laughing at ourselves.

He gets home usually around midnight and I love him crawling into bed and us just talking about our days until one or the other falls to sleep. I love that he enjoys cooking. Even at this moment he is making us breakfast. I sit here and think of the past year and what I absolutely love about the man I married and in no way can list them all.

Gosh, one whole year...it has flown by!
